Project management

We helped Pride Signs with software to manage a complex project replacing signage for all the McDonald’s restaurants in Canada.

CRM and sales management

Other than project management, customer relationship management (CRM) with sales funnels, lead tracking, estimating, and generating sales orders is the most common use case for Quickbase. While there are many other good CRM products available, none of them combines customization with ease of use the way Quickbase does. We built a CRM for Hometown Connections that helps them track the products and services they offer to their public utility customers.

Inventory management and bills of materials

other ticketing systems

We can build you an application provide exceptional service to internal and external customers from ticket intake to final resolution. Report on KPIs such as the number of open tickets, average time to resolution, and tickets per team member. We support Cardinal Health’s pharmacy customer service program with a Quickbase customer service ticketing app. Along similar lines, we built an app for Bill.com to receive, escalate, and resolve exception reports. IT help desk ticketing is another good use for Quickbase.

Facilities management

To manage and maintain campuses, buildings, and physical plant, you need a lot of records, schedules, calendar items, and documents close at hand and easy to find when you need them. With a Quickbase facility management app by Watkyn, you can track all your sites, facilities, and specific locations, as well as repair and maintenance schedules, inspection dates and results, repair tickets, contracts, skilled trade contractors, certificates of insurance, and so forth. We built an app like that for Facilities USA to help them manage facilities for their hotel customers.

Travel agency and tour
operator management

Travel companies use Quickbase for billing, rooming lists, sending proposals, managing itineraries and packages, and more. We have deep experience in the travel industry with group and individual travel companies and hotel room brokers such as Kaleidoscope Adventures, Group Travel Odyssey, TravelAdvocates, and Beyond Times Square.

Real estate brokerage management

You can keep comprehensive and connected records of your clients, property listings, appointments, mailing lists, closing tasks, and rehabilitation projects. If you have a large or growing office, you can make the most of every opportunity without losing sleep worrying about undone tasks. We built apps along these lines for Fernwood Real Estate Investment Group (Las Vegas) and The Good Estate Agent (UK). NAI Global uses Quickbase to allow its member firms worldwide to report transactions.

Education

Colleges and universities, school districts, and private schools share many of the same needs as other large organizations and can benefit from consolidating much of their software into a suite of Quickbase apps. Some of our higher education customers include Saint Louis University and Point Loma Nazarene University.

Legal and regulatory
compliance and contract management

The legal and regulatory environment is steadily becoming more complex, and contracts are following suit. An application to help you track regulatory requirements, delegate responsibilities, and manage to due dates can be accomplished in Quickbase. Capital Impact Partners turned to us for help with that.

Government programs

The City of Philadelphia Department of Commerce is using Quickbase to track inbound customer service requests from business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. In conjunction with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), we also built them an application to receive and process thousands of applications for COVID-19 small business relief grants and loans. Similarly, we built the application portal for Philadelphia’s rental assistance program (phase 4). We have also done work for the State of Arizona Office of the Governor and count the City of Miami Gardens as a client.

Asset and equipment tracking

Movable fixed or long-lived assets need good records related to insurance, depreciation, and maintenance. You also need to know where they are and who is operating them. We worked with RPM xConstruction to track the location of their heavy earthmoving equipment in Quickbase. CVO Enterprises needed to track the location and linear footage of their fiber optic cable reels. Skydio, mentioned earlier, uses Quickbase to track the location of vehicles and controllers as they move through their customer warranty repair process.

Public health program management and COVID-19 case investigation

Public health agencies manage innumerable programs of all different types: water safety, smoking cessation, facility licensing, and vaccination administration are just a few examples that show the diversity of responsibilities public health professionals may have. Data about those different programs is ordinarily housed in a collection of Excel spreadsheets scattered around shared folders and local drives and e-mailed from person to person. Quickbase can help you centralize and maintain all that diverse information so that you can better plan and execute programs, report on the results, and hand off responsibilities from one person to another. We helped the Southwest Utah Health Department improve their tobacco sales permitting and compliance program. Saint Louis University is using Quickbase software we made for them to run public vaccination clinics and report vaccinations to the State of Missouri.

Approvals and
checklist workflows

The monthly accounting close, vacation requests, capital expenditures requests, and technology requests are some examples of checklist and approval workflows that can be streamlined with Quickbase. Take in requests from users with documentation, justification, and notes, and route the request to the next person in the approval chain automatically and instantaneously and maintain an audit trail of approvals and outcomes that you can easily report on. We worked with StubHub’s global marketing department to create a Quickbase approval workflow for their marketing campaigns and tactics in various channels worldwide and integrate it with ProofHQ (now Adobe Workfront).

Other planning, reporting,
and analysis use cases

Besides the common use cases above, Quickbase can also help you with more specialized needs. We help Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes measure and report on risks associated with their medical device manufacturing. Booth Framing Arts is using a Quickbase app we built to plan art placements in hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. Rocky Mountain Transportation Services uses Quickbase to track the location of railcars traversing U.S. and Canadian railways.

Purchasing and supply
chain management

Procurement, sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain are complicated processes. They can include tracking suppliers and their company characteristics, preparing RFPs and RFIs, receiving and evaluating bids from vendors, creating and approving purchase orders, tracking shipments, containers, receipts of goods, and more. We built Nexira USA an ERP that includes extensive purchasing and supply chain functionality, such as creating purchase orders, tracking containerized shipments from Europe, and forecasting inventory in transit and on hand months into the future.

The kinds of apps we build on Quickbase are for business, government, and non-profit users and the people they work with in the public or at other organizations. Our software improves organizational processes, recordkeeping, collaboration, and reporting. It saves you time and lets you manage by the numbers. Quickbase apps run on any device that has Internet access and include native iOS and Android mobile apps downloadable from the App Store and Google Play, they are not consumer smartphone apps.
